saw attachment/dust blower
i know someone posted a reply to this subject years ago and said how lame it was, but i was wondering if anyone knows who makes(made) the dust blower attachment for the skilsaw and if you can still get one. if you can't still get one, does anyone have any close up pictures of one? to see what i am talking about....look at don dunkley's article on roof framing in the august '99 issue of JLC. i would like to find one and decide for myself just how lame it is. any help is appreciated.

Re: saw attachment/dust blower
A lot of the sidewinder saws have a blower built in. If you're looking to clean off the roof, go get a cheap electric leaf blower.

Re: saw attachment/dust blower
not looking to clean the roof off....the attachment has two tubes that come out the front to clear dust in front of your cut for better visibility(i think).

Re: saw attachment/dust blower
elijah-c,
I posted that thread years ago and only received one reply. The guy said that attachment was made by R&D distribution in san carlos. I looked forever trying ti find them but wth no luck. Please let me know if you do find any info out. The attachment works very well(A friend used to have one) And I would still be interested in one if I can get ahold of it.
Thank and good luck. Let me know if you find anything.

Re: saw attachment/dust blower
finally got some time to mess with the blower attachment. it's pretty ghetto, but it works for now. it is really cold here so i didn't put too much time into it. this spring i will probably make a better one. i'll try to attach some pictures. don't make too much fun.

Re: saw attachment/dust blower
The blower deal you are talking about is called The Clear Cut or Clear cut. I have bought two of the in Santa Clara California at NU WAY tools on El Camino Real. You can call information and get a number. Maybe they would be willing to ship you one. Good luck.

Re: saw attachment/dust blower
thanks. i called them and some guy that i could hardly understand answered and said that they wouldn't do mail order and he didn't have any info on where else to buy or how do buy direct. kind of pissed me off(almost as if the guy had something better to do) and prompted me to take my piece of crap apart and actually weld a new one and do it right. thanks again, though.
