  • can I walk on the cement board awhile?

My husband and I are in the middle of laying tile. We are laying the cement board and wondering if it is ok to walk on. It may be week before we can lay the tile down. Or should we wait and lay the cement board down later when we have time to lay the tile down?

Yes, you can walk on it for a while. You are setting it in a bed of thinset, right?

yes, we are putting a thin set mortar first and then the cement board. When can the stove and Refridgerater go back on top of the new tile once the grout has been put on. do you need to wait 24hrs?

I would wait at least 24 hrs, maybe 48, as the grout is still vulnerable. Light traffic is okay after a few hours.

Check with Dick Seibert...he has used cement board with floor applications (smile).
