    Re: Google's New Endorsement Policy

I saw that yesterday. All is fair in advertising I guess. If you don't like it don't support their product I suppose. It's very annoying to have to be on guard before every click these days though....
  2. Re: Bastard Roof with Clipped Hip Framing Puzzle....

is re framing the back of the existing roof a possibility?
not the best looking roof but I don't know that you have any better looking options without modifying the existing roof.

if you can get a Japanese saw in you may be able to get a hack saw in there to cut the fasteners if you cant find them through other methods. I use one of the small hacksaws where the blade slides...

Re: grinding proud SS screw heads?

if the material behind is sturdy you may be able to use a 3/16 nail punch and pound them flush. If they are out far enough vise grips and spin them back out by hand.

Re: How do you deal with weather

I've always let the concrete sub make the call for the most part. If nothing can be done until concrete is poured you've got to figure something out though. Tarps and rolls of plastic can be cheaper...

I spoke with the repair tech at one of my local suppliers. He said when he services the tool he can tell if it was purchases through them or Home Depot. The guts are different. For example, a plastic...

    Re: stuck on a detail

Curious what that framing looks like behind the drywall.
If you don't want it to turn into a big project I would suggest going kent's route. There are some things you just can't polish.

Re: What saw to use to cut 4 x 12 stringers

Can't imagine trying to do it on a miter saw. Does it have to be one pass? You could probably do it nearly as fast making a cut on both sides with a standard saw. You have to go a little slower with...

    Re: Sub zero panel bit?

    kent,
    It should work. It's basically a 1/8" dado 15/32" deep and then a 1/4" rabbet 5/32" deep.
I've done about a dozen of these. The only issue I see would be it wouldn't work on a door with a...
