My Corian installer dry sands and I don't think he goes that fine. Sounds like you're done.

Re: Leave in place tile spacing bars

Craftsmanship trumps gadgets every time. Spacers and shims are all you need.

Re: Why A Faucet Hole Costs $150.00

Don't apologize. Give them your price, get a yes or no, and leave. Let others compete on price. BTW, my price for that job would probably be $375 for all the reasons you listed.

    Re: Grab bars

I use these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KFKDW50?psc=1. They are flat, not like toggle bolts, have plenty of rated strength, are easy to install, and are inexpensive. I keep six in the van all the...

Re: Windows for a lake home

Have you talked to some local experienced contractors? Local sources might be better.
  9. Re: dishwasher and garbage disposal installation

That's good practice and if the combined amperage of the D/W and the G/D exceed the circuit rating, they have to be separate circuits.
  10. Re: Need Advice; I think my customer is running out of money

As long as you're renegotiating, change your payment schedule to progress payments for the percentage of work completed instead of for meeting milestones. Then you can bill every week or two weeks...

Re: Setting up Utilities for New Construction

I see no one else has an answer. I'd suggest their website. There should be a Contact Us option there.

    Log home caulking

My customer has a manufactured log home over 10 years old. There are cracks in some logs and gaps between the logs and exterior casings that are big enough for bats to enter. Any suggestions on...

    Re: Power panel

Am I missing something? Here (CA) the fire fighters trip the main breaker at the meter outside. They'd never go looking for an interior sub-panel.

I agree that the technology is there. I am replacing incandescent and halogen lamps in my home and recommend them to customers. You just have to know what you're buying.

    Re: LED bulbs

The term is lamps rather than bulbs. The thing to pay attention to with LED's is CRI, Color Rendition Index, it should be at least 80. And the color temperature in degrees kelvin. 2700K to 3000K is...

Re: Tiling a Remodel Bathroom with Schluter

The question of the strength of your subfloor has to do with joist span, size, and spacing as well as plywood stiffness.
Hardi won't add stiffness. Ditra is all you need. Personally, on a small...
  20. Re: Electrical current feeling through laptop case and other issues.

You found the problem. You've got hot/neutral reversed somewhere assuming you're testing the circuit without any load on it. Look for a neutral/ground short as well.

Re: Schluter vs. Redguard - thinset?

The manufacturers recommendations for their products are always best. However, I use latex modified thinset with Schluter with good results.
Noble also recommends latex modified thinset I believe.

Re: Karran undermount sinks with laminate tops

If you undermount a sink to a laminate top how are you going to waterproof the exposed particle board? I've never heard of this being done.
