    Re: NAHB Chart

If Joe's pdf version is not either "flattened" or locked against copying - to wit you can copy the text list from the pdf, then you should find you can paste it into a blank Excel spreadsheet and...
  2. Re: Replacing entry door with extra deep walls....

I am rather fond of having thresholds milled to my specification from Corian. Or DIY with a little router and table saw time.

    Re: vinyl window installation

Boy, I know there is a fair amount of vinyl siding installed w/o a WRB, but I didn't think that ever complied with code!

    Re: vinyl window installation

No need to cut vinyl siding. Work in the summer and even old siding is pliable, unzip it and do the work. An existing WRB is a must have. If there isn't one you need to quote a residing job along...

Re: Sealing a deck over a living area

I'd probably go with something that calls itself waterproofing. And I'd need to know what the deck is now before suggesting anything.

    Re: Cinder blocks under slab

Is it just a single stack, or is it maybe a part of a short retaining wall for those steps?
  7. Re: Storm Windows: EXTERIOR Storm Windows vs. INTERIOR Polyolefin Panels....

Indow. Limited distribution but an easy-on, easy off product. Mostly intended to eliminate drafts from leaky windows.

Re: Bestflashing details for low end homes

That turnback flashing was originally meant for use with tile roofing, especially Spanish tiles (where it doesn't leave a friggin hump in asphalt shingles)

    Re: Tyvek What?

    Dick,
Is that a contractors CGL policy or an architect's professional liability polity?
My pro liability has nothing like that in it

Re: To insulate a cricket on a roof?

I had a similar cricket go bad on me. At the wall line, interior air was infiltrating into the cricket assembly, where it condensed and caused the top[ portion of the cricket to rot. (The roof...

Looks just like Resysta. Maybe it is, just rebranded. If Resysta, its a bulletproof product with a good European track record. Comes at high-end commercial price tag though
