Can anyone tell me how tall the rough opening, from the subfloor, should be for by-pass doors that are 80" tall. The finish floor will be 3/4" hardwood.
Dave on a by pass door your header height is the same as all other interior passage doors. A pocket sliding door is taller. Instead of a 11 1/2 header use a 9 1/2" header. A by pass door is framed 1" under in width than what is normal to create the by pass, for example a 2'6 by pass would have a 64" hdr instead of 65" hdr. This includes the trimmers.
