  • Some nice pictures of NYC 100 years ago.

It's neat to see how places look way back when.

That picture of 6th & 40th is blowing my mind.

but it's down ATM - too much demand.

        Frenchie:

How's it blowing your mind? I remember 1940 well, my dad was having a new home built and every evening we would drive out so I could see it go up, probably the start of condemning me to this industry.
You will ask what goal the U.S. is pursuing? .... their external debt is huge, and ruining other countries is their customary method. Even ownership of the global 'printing press' is no longer helping. Nor is full control over NATO, None of that if enough for the 21st century colonizers. They don't just need to preserve the dollar as the only global currency but also to get their hands on the economic wealth of other large powers and regions. - Sergei Naryshkin

I'd have to find a picture of what it looks now.

The picture of Delancey looks - well, it's recognizable, anyways.

But that picture of 6th & 40th? Wow, what a difference.

            Nice find, Hoover. Very cool.

Frenchie, what blows my mind about that shot (and granted, I've never lived in NYC and have only visited a few times) is that there's no one on the street or on the sidewalk.

I like the bridge shots and Grand Central.

Hey Frenchie, I'll betcha that steel faced curb is still there!

Glad you guys enjoyed it. It's neat to check out the days before plasma's, computers, etc. One the best things I would love to see if it were possible, would be to bring people from the past into the future and just observe. The looks on their faces would be priceless.
