Id like some input as to whether or not current Boca codes permit the use of plastic anchors to support drop ceilings in a commercial space. Please give chapter and verse .

Well, first off, BOCA isn't the "current" code in most areas of the country anymore, so I'd first confirm that it's the right code to be referencing.

I'd start with the manufacturer's specs for the anchors you're considering- most manufacturers like Hilti have specs on all their products, listing what codes they're accepted by, and usually listing reports and tests on their suitability. That being said, I can't say that I've seen plastic anchors used to support ceiling grid- it's usually lead shields or pins set with a powder-actuated fastener.

I have all ways used shot & pins. For heavy loads some of my installers have gone to using the drill in concrete lag's and steel angles to tie to. Just have to check the loading.
