I would have posted this in Trade Talk, but I'm not looking for reasons this relates to Obama's forged birth certificate. This is real life stuff, not an invite for blaming and name calling...

This should be in Trade Talk. Not in this section of the forum.

Check with the AHJ, what we say doesn't matter.

      Re: Ain't life grand?

Makes me feel good I still have people calling me. But damn, that's a grim article.

I did like the person who called me before I left Portland. They wanted to add a single step to their deck. I asked how they got my number and why they called me- that was the only call I ever got from truck signage.

They wanted estimates from 6 people. Were willing to pay as much as $20/hr. Claimed it was a 2-3 hour job. So, by the article, it would have been a good job, if you could have gotten it. I declined.

The "craigslist stories" thread might have been a good spot.

Well- sure, but it could also be a good topic for the finish forum.

What exactly are people doing now that they didn't do in "the good old days"; how has your sales changed, what are you willing to do now that you wouldn't have done then.

There's always interesting specifics to the various sections that would get lost in trade talk or just another Craig's List rant section.

And also the weird calls that you may have gotten. I thought this had a potential to be interesting for the finish section. I can't count the number of people who have asked me if I had thought about becoming an IKEA installer person...

              Ikea's like legos for grown-ups!
I think I would pay extra for furniture I get to assemble myself!

That's an interesting article. I read down into the comments and one of the contractors in the article posted a couple of times.
