Does anyone know if drywall or plaster from homes built in the 50's or later have asbestos in it? I have heard it did or may, but I can not be sure.

Any mud used before the late 80s should be treated as an asbestos product till proven clean, also think of lead in the paint. Swan

You are required to know for sure. It is your responsibility to take a sample and send it to the lab. It only costs $45.00 and takes a couple of days. Do this, the liability and choking death isn't worth it. :-)
