  • Bending drywall

I am building a lighted sofitt around the perimiter of a room for a client. All of the IS & OS corners are to be 12" radius.
Does any one now any use tricks to bend drywall on an OS corner.?

    Thanks

    Re: Bending drywall

Get the "High-Flex" drywall that bends into that radius without wetting it - it's available at yourt drywall yard. It comes in 1/4" x 8'. Use heavy glue on the framing member and only nail or screw at the end of the board.

Another trick I use is pre bending the rock by leaving it overnight between two sawhorses. In the old days before we had access to 1/4", we had to use the overnight method (plus water).

        Thanks for the responses. I procured a 4x8x 1/4"
from the yard. I think it will work OK with some patience.

Whenever I have to wet drywall to fit a tight radius I wet the side that will be compressed
