  • Proper insulation and sheathing in a breezeway/3 season porch

The home is a Cape, looking at it from the street the 1 car garage is on the left, then breezeway then the house. The exterior siding of the house is visible on the inside walls of the breezeway. My question is this:

Where the garage is unheated and the breezeway is to be insulated, what is the proper way to finish the wall between the garage and the renovated space? Can it be drywall both sides with insulation in the bays, or would the inside of the garage wall need to be an exterior finish?

Drywall should be fine, as the inside of the garage wouldn't be exposed to the weather.

i agree with tom, u can also caulk the stds to the drywall on the backside of the garage wall to help stop air infiltration incase a seam in the drywall has pock holes or is not finished at the base on the inside of the garage. overkill I know, but it won't hurt

Look at DensArmor Plus for the garage side.
        Is the b-way heated?

Id use fire board on the garage side, it may be code for you anyhow, it is here.

It is heated, just a strip of electric baseboard.

Fire board is a good point. I'll check that.
