View Full Version : drywall to concrete board seam...

Hello guys.........I hang drywall infrequently..and never had to do this kind of seam........so. my ? is,how do you handle it? Just thinset is my guess..with the joint on the drywall side mudded out as usual...any help will be appreciated.Apparently this isnt the place to turn to for help..

Joint compound and tape works also, and produces a much smoother surface for painting.

Use a setting compound if it is going to be tiled over.

When I encounter this i simply use fiberglass tape and setting joint compound. Set the tile paint up to the new tile and caulk after everthing is done.

Cementacious boards should be banned. DensShield looks/feels like rock. Far superior to cementacious material - much lighter too.
I do what dakota does, fiberglass and hot mud.
