Finishes over Venetian Plaster?

I have a client who had what I am told is a venetian plaster(very smooth, almost marble like in appearance) applied in their bathroom. They hate it. Have asked me to put a new finish over it. But I am worried that nothing will adhear to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The final finish has not been chosen. Could be paint, wallpaper, or some other plaster finish.

Try BIN white pigmented shellac primer if that won't work nothing will. If it works you can apply just about enything over it. Worth a try. Swan
